1 Bute Inlet

This wasn't really a walk, but this trip to Bute Inlet, British Columbia, rates as one of the best wildlife experiences of my life

The beach near Horsey is part of a stretch of coastline which is home to one of the largest breeding colonies of Atlantic grey seals in the country

8 Clauchlands Point

A coastal walk to Clauchlands Point on Arran, where grey seals, curlew, oystercatchers and otters may be seen

9 Campfield Marsh

A walk around RSPB Campfield Marsh on the shores of the Solway firth, where we saw a pair of ospreys mating and marsh harriers hunting

10 Rye Harbour

A walk around Rye Hasrbour Nature Reserve, home to more than 4,355 species of plants and animals including 300 which are rare or endangered
