Find Walks
On this page you have various ways to find walks. In addition to searching by phrase, date or area, you can filter the search by a combination of area/distance/ascent/type to choose a tailor made walk
The type filter indicates the main focus of the walk:
- ‘Coastal’ includes cliff tops, beaches and walks by the coast
- ‘Hill’ is generally a climb to a summit below 1,000 feet in height
- ‘Lake District Fell’ is an ascent of one of the 214 fells as defined by Alfred Wainwright in his Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells
- ‘Mountain’ is a walk at high level in mountainous terrain, whether or not this includes a summit
- ‘Wildflowers’ are a significant feature of the walk in season
- ‘Wildlife’ is a significant feature of the walk in season
- Some walks may have multiple features, for example a ‘Historic Building’ with a ‘Garden’ may be found under both categories
