Just to support and confirm Chris's comments in June 2026 about Nettleton Top; the Permissive Path as described is no longer. It was a Permissive Path under a DEFRA Countryside Stewardship scheme but the Public Access was withdrawn on 31 October 2017. In May 2026 we also tried to walk that part just down from "The Ramblers Car Park" but had to return, where we found buried in the undergrowth the formal DEFRA/Natural England notice board/map, which stated access was withdrawn on 31 October 2017. Therefore that part of the walk is definitely out of bounds for the public. Hope this helps. Thanks for all the walks and comprehensive website etc you have shared. Particularly loving the Lake District hidden gems.
