Following this morning’s walk to Wildmoos there was plenty of time left for a linear walk from Mösern to Seefeld. One of the great advantages to walking in the Alps is that travel cards are often available and these permit free use of local buses, trains and sometimes cable cars. In our case a complimentary ‘Plateaucard’ was provided by our hotel and we’d be able to use this by taking a bus back to the start
At the start of the walk we passed by the beautiful baroque church of Maria Heimsuchung and walked out of Mösern along a track which passed by small farms and meadows with occasional views over the surrounding mountains
We ignored a few alternative paths leading to Seefeld all of which were clearly waymarked, and kept to our plotted route which was easy and undulating for most of the way. Eventually Seefeld came into view. After passing through several short tunnels we arrived at the outskirts of Seefeld and noticed an appealling path leading past the Chapel of Seekirchl – also known as Heiligkreuzkirche. The chapel is a perhaps the best known landmark of the region, and it looked especially lovely today reflected in the waters of the stream which runs past it. The delightful path took us further into Seefeld, where we followed a pedestrian path through the town and to the railway station, which is also the main bus stop. From here we took the 434 bus back to Mösern to end a lovely short walk
