Hi Andrew,
I just wanted to thank you so much for the inspiration provided by your fantastic website.
My husband and I (both 57) were holidaying in the UK in August-Sept. We have been several times previously and really wanted to do some fell walking this time but are fairly novice walkers. I stumbled across your website and through it you provided us with fantastic information and inspiration. I spent hours reviewing so many of your walks and chose several fairly easy ones to attempt.
We spent 5 days staying in Troutbeck, nr Penrith. The best day of our entire holiday was a sparklingly clear day when we did Gowbarrow Fell in the morning and Catbells in the afternoon. It was so fantastically beautiful and on Catbells you feel like you are on top of the world. The weather closed in a little after that but we did climb Hallin Fell and did the circular walk through Hallinhag Wood.
So I just wanted to thank you for providing such a wonderful resource. I now check daily for your latest walking adventures and have already selected some more walks for our next trip, hopefully in a couple of years' time!
All the best
Gayle
