Hi Andrew. Iโd just like to thank you for your websiteโs role in our wonderful week in the western Lakes last week. Much as I love reading Wainwrightโs guides, your route descriptions complement them brilliantly. So, for example, when tackling the High Stile range, it was handy to know about the steep section below the summit of Red Pike (we had the red hands to confirm!), and to be ready for the โknee-jarring descent down Gamlin Endโ. I now appreciate your caption under the photo of the Grasmoor signpost at Cinderdale Common (โโฆ the distance indicated is the longest 1.5 miles Iโve ever walkedโ)! And on the Saturday we took your advice that when the hordes head for Buttermere, Lorton Vale is never the wrong choice: starting near the foot of Brackenthwaite Hows, the first other human we saw was the man in the Lorton village shop. Bliss.

Just came across your site from a Twitter link and wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed escaping to Rannerdale and its beauty with you. Weโve both cabin fever, having contracted the ( non covid) coughing virus from Hell and this has cheered me up no end. The photos are stunning and I may well get my paints out to reproduce my two favourites! Thank you, Andrew.

Thank you so much Andrew for all your work. We have used your website for our primary holiday walks for over a year now, covering North Yorkshire Moors, Dorset, Tenerife to date. Peak District later on this year, and looking forward to sampling your extensive Lake District catalogue next year. Your stunning photography for the walks, together with the OS Map links, are just exceptional. I hope your knee is fully recovered soon. Thanks again Brent.

Hi Andrew, I've been meaning to message for quite some time in appreciation for your work, and now with some quiet time around Easter I can finally get around to it!
For the past couple fo years, we have been using the list of Wainwrights as an encouragement to get out and explore more of the Lakes. Your website has become my first port of call EVERY TIME I'm feeling inspired to look for a good walk. I really appreciate all the hard work you've put in to making it the superb resource it is. It's full of useful and clear information, and looks fantastic. Your wonderful photos really do enhance the walk even before it's begun and are a real driving force in getting out and starting the adventure.
I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery and look forward to more stunning content as you're able. ๐

Hi Andrew,
I have just stumbled upon your website which is amazingly helpful to someone like me who is just setting about on a journey of discovery. The lake district has basically been on my doorstep for 52 years and it's only now that I have realised the joy that walking can bring. Your detailed walks are amazingly detailed and the links to OS are brilliant for a novice. Thank you so much for the effort you have gone to with your website, and I hope you have a speedy recovery ๐

I just wanted to say how I was taken in by your photos of Yorkshire. The walks in the Lake District just captured my heart and I was spellbound like a little girl with all the beauty and majesty of the country.
My brother used to live in the Lake District and unfortunately didn't get a chance to see all of it's beauty, but what I did see I truly loved. Thank you for all of your work, pictures and generosity in sharing all of this beauty with others. You started my day off in the best way possible, I will be saving your Webpage to my favourites for sure.
Linda.

I was viewing your twitter account and thought the mountain shaped mist over Crummock Water could be categorized as a Dodd of Mist, having recently learnt the definition of Dodd, โa round protuberanceโ

Hi Andrew,
I just spent a week in the lakes and came across your excellent site. Walked yesterday to Hayeswater Lake, with a side trip up the knoll. Cold, frosty, icy but stunning spot to walk.
Just wanted to say, thanks for putting this together. Beautiful photos.
