Cala Tuent

Cala Tuent

Northern Mallorca

Route: Cala Tuent

Area: Northern Mallorca

Date of walk: 9th September 2015

Walkers: Andrew and Gilly

Distance: 7.4 miles

Weather: Cloudy at first but then sun and blue skies

Our son James gave us a lift to the starting point at Mirador de ses Barques, a viewpoint from which there are spectacular views over the Sóller valley to the sea – a great start to the walk (anyone not having the luxury of a spare driver and a rented car can take the bus 354 from Sóller to the Mirador)

This was a walk of two distinct parts, the first part being through ancient olive groves with the Tramuntana mountains towering above us, followed by an amazing coastal walk along to our destination, Cala Tuent, a quiet cove. The views from the coastal path were superlative

Although the walk ended at Cala Tuent, the pleasure continued with an excellent lunch at the local restaurant, a snooze on the beach, a boat trip back along the coast to Port de Sóller and finally a ride on the old tram back to our base in Sóller

It had been one of the best walks of our lives
