Distance: 3.0 miles

Weather: Some sunshine and showers

We parked along Lord Mayor’s Walk by the City walls and walked into the centre via Monkgate Bar. Gilly was here to do some Christmas shopping so I quickly made my excuses and went on a walk instead

Time was limited and this meant that I had to miss out on many of the attractions which this ancient city has to offer

After visiting the magnificent York Minster, I wandered around the narrow streets for an hour or so following no particular route – anyone wanting to follow a more structured route is recommended to try the City of York walls walk

The weather was mixed, with a few heavy showers and I had to put the camera away on several occasions. I saw enough to remind me of what a beautiful city this is, and I made a mental note to return again for a longer visit
