Date of walk: 6th February 2015

Weather: Sun and blue skies, no wind, perfect

Today was stage 3 of our walk along the Yorkshire Wolds Way, a wonderful long distance walk across chalk landscape and full of beauty throughout. We’re not walking the route on consecutive days, as we’ve decided to pick and choose fair weather days when the big skies and huge views are shown to their best advantage

We chose the right day today, and after leaving one car in Millington for the return journey we returned in the other car to Goodmanham to start the walk, full of anticipation as to what lay ahead

After leaving the unspoilt village of Goodmanham we walked across rolling chalk farmland to the beautiful estate village of Londesborough. It was a thrill to see a pair of red kites soaring above us as we walked through the parkland

For much of the walk the path followed the western edge of the Wolds, enabling us to enjoy massive views over the Vale of York – we could see landmarks that were at least 40 miles away

It was one of those walks that you hope will never end, but eventually it did, in the pretty village of Millington. We look forward to stage 4 of this great walk
