The Loweswater Show is held on the first Sunday in September and today was the 138th such event. It’s a traditional agricultural show which attracts folk from all over the district. The show has a timeless quality about it. The format has been more or less the same since the very start, and you feel it will carry on that way for time immemorial – and I hope that it will
In recent years the venue for the show has been opposite New House Farm in the Lorton Valley, very convenient for us as we can see the showground from our house and our neighbour kindly lets us walk there across her fields
Any outdoor show needs good weather and luckily today was a beautiful day. We spent a very happy couple of hours wandering around admiring the exhibits and attractions on offer and then walked back home across the fields reflecting on the beauty of this valley
